ISSA Offshore Skipper
Become a captain and take the boat yourself
The Skipper Offshore course is professional training for those who want to become a captain of a sailing or motor yacht and obtain an international ISSA Offshore Skipper license. The next level after Inshore Skipper. The license allows you to operate a vessel on the open sea, make long passages, including at night, and charter a yacht anywhere in the world. The training includes theory, practice and exams, after successfully passing which you will become a professional skipper.
The ISSA Skipper Offshore license category gives you more freedom and responsibility than Inshore Skipper. It allows you to make longer coastal passages and go offshore up to 150 nautical miles from shore day and night without restrictions on sea conditions.
To enroll in the course, you must be at least 18 years old, have 800+ miles as a yacht captain, a previous level captain's license, and a VHF radio operator certificate.
